Reiki is a healing, stress reduction and relaxation practice originating from Japan. This particular form of Energy Work is rooted in the practice of "laying on hands" to allow an individual’s life force energy (ki) to move freely and smoothly throughout our body and energy centres.

 

Within a session the practitioner will use particular techniques to allow one’s body to deeply relax, enter a deep meditative state that helps restore the nervous system and begin to naturally heal itself.

It is believed that if one's life force is low or blocked, as a result of daily lifestyle or trauma, then we are more prone to sickness and have a tendency to feel weak in our everyday life. On the other hand, by allowing this energy to move freely and openly through reiki, we can experience a healthy and uplifted sense of being.

ABOUT OUR SESSIONS

Our Reiki sessions are offered on a one-to-one bases, in-person and online. The sessions can vary in length, and you will spend the entire session lying fully clothed on a treatment table or on a comfortable surface (online), either face up or face down. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing for your session, avoiding wearing anything tight or restrictive, any accessories or jewellery.

During the session, the practitioner will place his or her hands lightly on or near your body in a series of hand positions, including positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and the feet, as well as other positions based on your unique needs. Each hand position is held for roughly 3 to 10 minutes, depending on how much the practitioner feels is needed in each position.
