OUR STORY
कथा

baba’s aims to incorporate global practices of wellbeing to foster connection between people, community and mother earth.

baba’s stemmed from the passions of two siblings to live happily, sustainably and in harmony with nature.

By establishing differing backgrounds and education, yet sharing the same vision and practices, Matthew and Rebecca brought together their approaches to provide a wholistic and restorative approach to planetary and human health. Whilst growing up between Wales and Hong Kong, they were able to explore the varying arts of living adopted by different cultures, and also glimpse into the severe effects of environmental disconnection around the world. baba's was created in gratitude to this opportunity and with the urgency of a global life-style change.

We would like to express our honour and gratitude towards the Eastern cultures through which our practices sprout, such as the ancient Indian wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga and the Japanese and Chinese insight of Reiki and Energy Work, evidently providing our foundation.

Matthew and Rebecca's offerings are provided in-person in London, Italy and Hong Kong and from the comfort of your home, online. In the future, they hope to create a natural, permaculture-based healing centre to share their services with the growing conscious community worldwide.

Matt

Matthew has a Western background in human geography, food systems and permaculture, coupled with a deepening interest in Eastern approaches of Ayurveda and energetics. This approach has given him a well-rounded and holistic scope on the planetary and human dilemmas that we face, and has pushed him to ask; how can we fuse the wisdom of both to create solutions for our inner and outer biomes?

With a mission to explore the feminine aspects of a masculine life, Ayurveda appeared as the perfect science in which imbalances could be properly unearthed and our beings properly (re)integrated - at the level of mind, body and spirit.

He believes that one's connection to food and its origins naturally connect them to their roots - symbolically and literally. Matthew's next steps involve furthering his practice of Ayurveda and Yoga, having recently completed an Ayurvedic Healing course at the American Institute of Vedic studies. Ultimately, he sees strength in fusing his interests with his sister, who is on a remarkably similar trajectory, namely baba's.
